Bike Friendly Community Information
Learn how to maintain and fix your bicycle … FREE … attend one session or all three sessions. No age limit … Youngsters and Seniors are encouraged to come join us. You’ll be better for the experience. Learn from experienced bicyclists the mechanics of fixing a bicycle.
Our 2017 Bicycle Maintenance Clinics are scheduled for three successive Saturdays in January, 12 noon to 3:00pm (Jan. 14, 21, 28) and you do not need to be a bike club member or have any prior experience in bike mechanics and you may attend one session or all three sessions.
Where : Lemoyne Borough Building, 510 Herman Ave., Lemoyne, PA 17043
Cost: $0.00 … that’s right there is no cost … these clinics are free but we may ask for a small donation ($1, $5, whatever you think it is worth) because there are a few supplies and refreshments which will be provided.
What will be taught : The basics in maintaining and fixing a bicycle starting with “How to Fix a Flat Tire” and “What to Carry on Your Bike”. Other topics depend on what our participants tell us they’d like to learn … Gears, Cleaning Your Bike, Helmet Fitting, Riding with Groups, Chain maintenance and potential issues. These are “hands on” clinics … first we’ll teach you how to do something and then you’ll do it yourself and experienced HBC members will assist you too. We’ll also tell you why you might want to consider joining a Bike Club and what HBC offers for the small cost of joining (we’re cheap to join and proud of it!) … events like our annual Finger Lakes Sojourn, Fall Tour, Annual Banquet, Spring Fling.
