Camp Hill Recreation is looking for a Recreation Intern, Siebert Park Day Camp Counselors, Preschool Summer Adventures Camp Counselors, Lifeguards, and Snack Shack employees for summer 2020.  Application available below.

Recreation Intern
Deadline March 9, 2020 or until position is filled
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Experience in planning and evaluating programs
  • Experience working with children and adults of all ages
  • Leadership experience in a recreational setting
  • Microsoft Office literate (Word, Publisher, Excel)
  • Good communication skills and ability to work with the public

Recreation Intern Responsibilities:

  • Enrolling participants in Active Net System
  • Assist with phone and front desk work
  • Assist with Seasonal Programs and Camps
  • Assist with Summer Special Events and planning of Fall Events
  • Evaluating programs and compiling information
  • Assist with preparing upcoming newsletter for next season
  • Writing Sponsorship Letters
  • Other duties assigned
Siebert Park Day Camp Lead Counselor
Deadline March 9, 2020 or until all positions are filled

Lead Counselor Responsibilities:

  1. Provide supervision, instruction, and ongoing assistance to camp staff and campers during programs
  2. Assign/oversee staff tasks (set up/take down of equipment/supplies, etc.); supervise campers and implement assigned programs; complete/submit all required paperwork by set deadlines
  3. Responsible for assessing and making recommendations to Recreation Director as to camp equipment and supply needs; monitors safety of all aspects of camp and campers
  4. Follow protocol regarding handling of behaviors and special needs; gives Recreation Director input and feedback on effectiveness of behavior protocols
  5. Assist/participate in: administering behavior protocol as directed, administering all medical protocol as directed, verbal and physical assistance, and accomplishes all other tasks as directed
  6. Assist in the care, cleanliness, and security of the facility used by campers during the camp
  7. Communicate all pertinent issues affecting camp to Recreation Director (i.e. staff/client/ parent/concerns, etc.), in a timely manner
  8. Communicate clearly, honestly and respectfully with staff, campers, parents and volunteers
  9. Establish good rapport with families of the campers as well as keeping them informed about concerns affecting the campers
  10. Create a nurturing, positive and professional environment while promoting camp policies and procedures among staff, volunteers and community

Siebert Park Day Camp Counselor

Preschool Summer Adventures

  • Must be 16 years or older
  • Dedicated and willingness to work with children
  • Positive role model
  • CPR and First Aid certification desired, however training will be available
  • Available to work mornings
Lifeguard
Deadline March 9, 2020 or until all positions are filled
  • Must be 15 years of age or older
  • Must be ARC certified
  • Loves working with the public including children
  • Strong work ethic
  • Willing to do duties as assigned, including cleaning and organizing
  • Dedicated to working a shift
  • MUST be available to work the majority of the pool season, Memorial Day weekend – Labor Day weekend
Snack Shack
Deadline March 9, 2020 or until all positions are filled
  • Must be 16 years of age or older
  • Loves working with the public
  • Strong work ethic
  • Must be good with money and making change
  • Some basic cooking experience
  • Willing to do duties as assigned, including cleaning and organizing
  • Dedicated to working a shift
  • MUST be available to work the majority of the pool season, Memorial Day weekend – Labor Day weekend
